Ampie Bosman Cultural History Museum
General De La Rey Square, Lichtenburg. Exhibits cover the founding and development of Lichtenburg in 1873, the discovery of diamonds and the Siege of Lichtenburg during the Anglo-Boer War.

Anglo-Boer War Museum
Also known as the War Museum of the Boer Republics
100 Memoriam Road, Bloemfontein. Includes photographs, memorabilia and research material. The Women's Memorial is next to the museum; erected in 1913, it commemorates the 26, 370 women and children who died in concentration camps during the war.

Army Museums Ogilby Trust
The Army Museums Ogilby Trust supports the development of those museums in the United Kingdom displaying the collections of the regiments and corps of the British Army.

The Australian War Memorial
One of the best war museums in the world. Their site has been revamped and is now a wealth of information, with online rolls of honour, virtual tours through Australian conflicts and a number of other projects. Scholars may apply for research grants for research in Australian military history from this site.

Boekenhoutfontein Paul Kruger Museum
Boshoek, Rostenburg. The former farm of Paul Kruger has four restored period buildings open to the public. Tours and demonstrations.

British National Army Museum
A fine site to add to the growing list of British military resources. This online museum is well worth the visit, especially if you're interested in links to other British military sites.

Fort Amiel Museum
Fort St, Newcastle. Fort Amiel was an important base for military operations from 1876 to 1902. The museum consists of seven buildings including the original cook house and a fully furnished guard house.

Fort Durnford Museum
Kwezi Rd, Estcourt. Housed in the beautiful military fort that was designed by Colonel Durnford and built in 1874.

Koopmans De Wet House
35 Strand St, Cape Town. The home of politically prominent Marie Koopmans-De Wet, built in 1701. Includes a collection of Cape furniture, Eastern ceramics and Dutch Delftware.

Kruger Museum
60 Church St, Pretoria. The possessions of President and Mrs Paul Kruger during their years of residence in Kruger House.

Krugerhof Museum

Murchison St, Ladysmith. This 1884 building contains artefacts, uniforms and documents from the siege of Ladysmith.

This South African online museum should be a first stop for those interested in regional South African history. A goodlist of local activities and history and some links to other local sites of interest.

Mafikeng Museum
Martin St, Mafikeng. History and cultural displays of the area, including a special Siege of Mafeking display hall. Includes items of the Barolong and the San.

McGregor Museum
This museum's website now has some photographs and information on various aspects of the South African War. There is an article on the siege of Kimberley as well as on Black involvement in the War.

Melrose House
275 Jacob Mare St, Pretoria. A late Victorian house museum featuring a permanent photo exhibition on the Anglo-Boer War.

Museums Northern Cape
Museums Northern Cape is a section of the Directorate of Arts & Culture, which is part of the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture in the Northern Cape Province.
The Museum Service funds three major regional museums. These are situated in Calvinia, Upington and Victoria West. Four smaller museums receive limited funding from the Museum Service: Mary Moffat Museum, Loeriesfontein , Richmond Museum and Colesberg Museum.

is the national Museum of Army Communications covering the period from the Crimean War onwards.

Royal Welch Fusiliers Museum
The RWF Museum would always be happy to assist with research enquiries relating to the War. Like most regimental museums, they have a surprising amount of first hand material and some artefacts.

9 Cross St, Cradock. Dedicated to famed South African author Olive Schreiner.

South African National Museum of Military History
The Museum is situtated in the northern Johannesburg suburb of Saxonwold adjacent to the Johannesburg Zoo and close to the recreational area of Zoo Lake. It is easily accessible by road from the Pretoria-Witwatersrand-Vaal Triangle and a number of bus routes pass close by. There is ample parking for the motorist.

RE Stevenson Museum
Old Toll House, Colenso. Consists of historical exhibits, including a model of the battle of Colenso and relics from the battle.

Talana Museum

Warrior's Gate Moth Museum
